doiley in progress

This is my FIRST doiley. The middle part is from Learn to Tat ... now,
I am trying to get this pretty edge added - found pattern in an older magazine. I have the pattern memorized & it is going well ... so far. The tatted piece will be about 7".

finishing

Lizzie Kate
for Punch Needle
Halloween Hang-Ups 2

I used cord from the fabric store.
I like the way it looks!

GF Sue had this necklace made for me.

I had tatted the butterfly & a friend of hers mounted it inbetween glass squares, inserted w/fancy paper, and welded shut.

I've worn this with a ball-n-chain & thought it might be prettier with some hand dyed ribbon.

While I had my ribbons out for finishing (couple needlework projects), I found this pretty yellow ribbon with blue speckles that match!
WOOT.

The ribbon is dyed by Pat Winter

Threading the Needle Day

Thread the Needle Day

Per Holiday Insights web site:

Today is Thread the Needle Day (July 25th). You can be certain that today is going to be a great day........ if your sew.

Thread the Needle Day certainly is a day for those who sew. It also has a second meaning. The term "thread the needle", is also a saying. It means to either walk a fine and difficult line between two things or issues, or to do something difficult. For example, suppose two of your friends are on opposite sides of an issue. You may have to "thread the needle" on that issue, as you attempt to retain both of them as your friend.

The creator of Thread the Needle Day did not document this day. So, until we find him or her, you can celebrate today by either sewing or threading the needle on issues.

in progress

Was really tired last night & started to put together another cupcake pincushion (out of knit - wool pieces). Had some extra fiber on shuttles & made a few butterflies. Maybe I'll have more energy tonight.

Since youngest has been practicing driving (me the passenger) I haven't been home much. He is doing well behind the wheel & seems confident. He has one more class and five more drives (w/instructor) before the course is complete -- at that time he can test for his license.

I had nine entries into Porter County Fair this Summer --- maybe will get a ribbon or two? Lake County Fair entries are due July 31st. I have a few things to finish-finish & cannot seem to locate my cross stitch ornament (already stitched - just needs to be sewn into an ornament). Maybe will just start from scratch & make a new one.

Would be nice to have some spending money for fancy tatting shuttles
(which I've had my eye on)

Cupcake Pincushions & Randoms

Ok, not only did I finish up one cupcake pincusion ....
I have the second one ready to go.
I bought the kits at the Quilt Show from
Bluebird Meadows (vendor)

Probably would have been easier to assemble
had I purchased the instructions....
I think they are too cute when finished!!!
