Does this look even to you? Is it centered?

I am using Col. 959, No. 8, DMC Coton Perle.

After making teneriffe lace, and creating buttons, with circles/templates, it was quite a challenge to just sew the perle coton to the fabric without 'marking' the center, 'marking' the spokes - to make it even.   And the center!!!  is it in the center!!!

I understand the accomplished Nanduti lacemakers just make the spokes - kind of eye where it should be.   Probably took me twice as long - I'm so used to measuring and marking ....

I think I have the 4 areas ready to darn/weave into flower petals.  And adding fiber with the lace knot - well, I'd done that before - now to weave over the knot so it doesn't show ....  guess I'm ready to create some petals -- yellow or pink?

Nanduti Lace English

  Interesting video --

I had my first Introduction to Nanduti class - thru The Lace Museum, Virtual Education.  Dawn Lovig is the instructor.    Interesting kit - frame, cotton, fiber, needle - and I must say, that needle is a weapon!!   Like 2" long and sharp.    Managed to lace the cotton fabric to the frame - without pokine my hands.   I have a lot to learn.

I am using Col. 959, No. 8, DMC Coton Perle.  Pattern Pensamiento.

I didn't get too far - Will eventually look similar to the blue one in the photograph.   Before the next session, I should complete the 4 petals of the Pensamiento flower -- and we will have some sort of ring of ? / some kind of border - near the end - close to the edge of the circle.   And, add spokes in another circle , ready to begin the next pattern!

Crescent Moon

 This is Crescent Moon.
Kelli Slack ~ Kelli Slack Designs c.2025.  I have not started the companion piece (yet).  The pointed chain on the tips really works!   I need to sew in the ends and block -- More tatting / supplies / on-line clases available at her website:   A Twisted Picot.

Photo on the right is on the  Kelli Slack Designs pattern.   She used metallic fiber.   I chose a blue moon with delica beads.   The fiber is Marilee's HDT.    I have another chosen for the companion piece (sun).

This was one of the Night + Day Lace Marathon sessions thru The Lace Museum, Virtual Education.   There are some new virtual sessions listed, they change / are updated frequently.
