Nanduti Patterns for Christmas (2nd session)

 I'm using DMC Coton Perle 12 - Color 3823 for the spokes and diamond 

knotted shapes inbetween the petals.

DMC Coton Perle 8 - Color 321 for the petals [(Daisy / Margarita (flor de)] & woven necklace pattern (Mbo'y o collar) - rim of circle.

DMC Coton Perle 8 - Color 3345 for knotted circle edges.

The knotting w/3823 is a challenge - pretty though.  Should be the last part of this circle.   The next circle - snowflake pattern .... stay tuned.

Prep / tatted edges

In addition to 'prep' for Christmas theme Nanduti sessions, Virtual Education thru The Lace Museum,  ( https://the-lace-museum-shop.myshopify.com/ ), I pulled out my travel tatting.  Time to add more fiber to the shuttles.

"Blue" edge is now 22.5" - Lizbeth #661, Size 20.

The "Tangerine/green" edge is now 19" - Flora 20, Color 09 & Lizbeth #684, Size 20.  

The Lace Wood Edge Keeper is from

A Twisted Picot.  I have a few of them - they keep the tatting from tangling up.

Tatted Edges are nice to keep nearby - and they continue to fill in those times when 'waiting' or traveling.

 I'm going to add in some knotted circles inbetween the rose color petals.  (Arasape).   Still deciding on a fiber color.   And, have the circle/flowers to complete -- not liking the knotting of the flower, even tho I've tried a couple times.   May weave in some color.

- Color 670 (red).   Oh the berry - Will try again.

When I put the leaf with mistakes and without mistakes together, they look okay.  We were advised to leave the fiber tails 'on' for attaching.   They are interesting to create -- I need more green fiber!  Perhaps I should go on a fiber hunt.  Maybe I have green fiber in a different size.

 Here are two 'mistake' holly leaf patterns, + on leaf to 'edge'.   During the class, I was watching, knotting, checking the pattern, and kept moving along (ignoring mistakes).   Learned A LOT.  Berry beads for now.

Lizbeth Size 10 - Color 714 (green)

My knotted berry pieces are a sight for sore eyes.   Found some berry beads and will use them (until I can master the knotting in the round).  

Have a large and small leaf beginning -- plan to put the holly leaf edge on.  Making the spikes is a lot of fun - trying to get them equal on both sides, a challenge.  Maybe they don't need to be exact.

I enjoy exploring this type of knotting w/large needle - following the sessions of edges ...

and the square pieces / doily, the shapes are wonderful to learn and create.

Misc.

My friend gave me these two vintage Weave-It looms.

I enjoy looms / yarns.

I have a bag in the works - which I forgot about until I was gifted the two looms.   Had a hunt, and it was in a project bag.

 Made with a zoom loom.   Tolt Folded Bag pattern.  I need to add a handle.  I've had this WIP for awhile!

Part of a blog post 3/27/2022:

This project, I found in a box.   I won a Zoom Loom and 3 balls of yarn.   Made the squares, and somehow put it away - never put it together.   I think, not sure, that it was a giveaway thru Facebook.  Schacht Spindle Co & Classic Elite Yarns.   My plan was to sew the strips together and fold them into a Tolt Folded Bag.   So I hope to get the 3rd row of squares put together & now that I found the ball of yarn, can sew the 3 rows together.   Fingers crossed this works.

 I found this in my "travel bag".  Met up with friends and put in some of the weaving.  Spinning Star.   A very nice kit - and I switched the kit fiber with Lizbeth fiber.  An excellent to go kit.

Enameled Copper

 I think it is prettier in hand, than in the photograph. (Spring Leaf kit).

 I ordered the little tatting shuttle (enameled-tiny-tatting-shuttle-pendant) for the necklace I use w/2 tatting hooks.   It looks so nice!

The leaf that has the holes for tatting is larger -

I was going to tat today - and the snow clearing became priority.   Round one of the snow, about 8 " -- round 2 of the snow, about 10 ".  Never mind the drifting.   Later this week will all melt.
