Before picking up my piece from day one, I made practice pieces. I wasn't sure about the joins.
I needed to double check how to join / split rings. You Tube so helpful:

To be sure I got it right, tatted another practice piece:
Sometimes tatting with multi color fibers helps with split rings (IMO)

Now that I got the joins right -- will pick up my piece from yesterday.
