Preparing for the next sessions of Nanduti thru the Lace Museum's virtual education classes. This series of classes will be on a larger frame and fabric. Nanduti Medallion pattern taught by Dawn Loving. link here. I prepared 2 pieces of muslin fabric and used DMC Baroque Crochet Cotton to lace onto the frame.
Nanduti Lace is a traditional Paraguayan lace:
I am still working on patterns from past sessions. I pulled them out last night and was amazed at how delicate they look (as WIPs). It is a lot to learn (for me), even with an excellent instructor! Perhaps this larger pattern will be easier to navigate. And the sessions will be q o week instead of weekly. I could not participate in these sessions without the support of my DH -- he knows how engrossed I get with textile art, community art projects, and learning new techniques. Hours pass and I'm still at it into the wee hours of the morning. PLUS, grateful to friends who have extra fibers in their stash to gift me - and organic beeswa from my girlfriend's spouse (from his bee hives).
I filled in my Lace Bingo card and emailed to Kelli Slack.

Interesting to see the preparation. You’re putting a lot of effort into the course, good that you have support.
