Doodles

Are the temperatures high enough?   In the distance, I hear some thunder.   Maybe we will have some much needed rain tonight.    Meanwhile, some doodles:

I use two shuttles for split rings - and
didn't add beads.

It is a lovely shape for a dragonfly.

Tatting

(8.) Motif from MiniTats by Patti Duff
Lizbeth Size 20 Col. 628.
I plan to use this with a kanzashi flower.  I find this
so interesting - and think it would be great with a fabric
flower (and possibly a button center)

I tried motif #9 + messed up.
I tatted half one night, picked it up in the morning,
and joined at the wrong picot ...
trying it again.

Flower Doodles
(Not sure what fibers/sizes left on shuttles)

Actually, I have a few doodles from
the past couple of days.
Putting them into the mail by the end of the week.

Sewing Machine Day

When : June 13th and September 10th

Sewing Machine Day celebrates a very important invention ----- the sewing machine. The first sewing machines were made in France in the 1830s. It wasn't until 1846, that they were patented in the U.S. What a great invention. Prior to it's creation, clothes items were sewn together by hand...stitch by stitch.

People who know how to use a sewing machine are dwindling in number. Our mothers and grandmothers had a sewing machine in the house. They used it, too. But, look around your house. Do you have a sewing machine? Chance are, the answers is no.

If you have a sewing machine, enjoy today making things with it. If not, consider picking up sewing as a hobby.

Have you read or heard about Dewey?

I've been reading
Dewey the library cat
am about 1/2 way thru the book.
(and there is a 2nd book, too)

It is kinda cute - in a library kat sort of way.

Night Circus

I am nearing the end of this novel - I need to find time to finish it in one sitting.   It is a novel of magic, not usually my type of book; however, well written, and I find myself interested in the main characters, as well as the supporting cast!   I wonder what is going to happen to all of them - if this will have a good enough ending, or if it spills into another book, part two?.
