Lizzie Kate: Halloween Hang-ups (Cat)

Lizzie Kate for Punch Needle
Halloween Hang-Ups 2

From prim punching (yesterday's post) to Halloween decorations.

I really enjoy the bright colors!

The white small buttons come with the pattern.
I used DMC floss on the ears + bow tie. Used Wildflower for the orange + Week's Dye Works for the rest (black cat, green).

The pattern has 3 designs, printed on the cloth.
I'd like to get the pumpkin finished, too. Stay tuned.

reading and punching

Slay It With Flowers
by
Kate collins

I'm reading the 2nd book in the Flower Shop Mystery Series.
The first book was Mum's the Word.

I am trying to get thru Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper.
I get thru another chapter and
just put it down. I cannot
imagine going thru anything like that.

I couple weeks ago, I met up with a NANI
friend, Diana, at the public library
and we did some punch needle.

I'm still punching Halloween
designs + need to see if I have
any Autumn or Christmas
designs (with fibers)
in my stash.

Punching is so quick
compared to stitching.

I enjoy it so much ; )

finishing

Halloween Hang-Ups 2

I used cord from the fabric store.
I like the way it looks!

GF Sue had this necklace made for me.

I had tatted the butterfly & a friend of hers mounted it inbetween glass squares, inserted w/fancy paper, and welded shut.

I've worn this with a ball-n-chain & thought it might be prettier with some hand dyed ribbon.

While I had my ribbons out for finishing (couple needlework projects), I found this pretty yellow ribbon with blue speckles that match!
WOOT.

The ribbon is dyed by Pat Winter

I've enjoyed punching
Maybe will get this finished into something before Saturday?

At the beginning of this year
I had a list of things I wanted to
learn or try

Punch Needle, Tatting, Doll Making, Ribbon Embroidery, Crazy Quilting

I've enjoyed spending time researching & learning new things!

I am grateful for friends
who have helped me with supplies
lessons, hints, tips
& encouragement

punchneedle

Thx Beth!
My GF Beth, decided punchneedle wasn't really her thing
... she gave me this Halloween kit w/design on fabric, buttons, etc.

Of course, she changed her mind about punchneedle
after she launched her
Sweetheart Bunny,
(the Workbasket) project ---
I asked if she wanted the Halloween stuff back!!!
She said "no" and

I am looking forward to starting these Halloween punchneedle designs
The designs are already printed on the fabric
and the buttons & fibers are ready to go!Halloween Hang-Ups

Saturday, stopped at House of Stitches & picked up:
Isn't this a fun pattern?
(Mel & Sue thought so, too)
I need to check my fibers
and figure out what I have & what I need!

Do you see the shuttle?
It is for tatting lessons

Maybe with some hands-on
help, I can figure out
the tatting basics at last!
