My friend gave me these two vintage Weave-It looms.

I enjoy looms / yarns.

I have a bag in the works - which I forgot about until I was gifted the two looms.   Had a hunt, and it was in a project bag.

 Made with a zoom loom.   Tolt Folded Bag pattern.  I need to add a handle.  I've had this WIP for awhile!

Part of a blog post 3/27/2022:

This project, I found in a box.   I won a Zoom Loom and 3 balls of yarn.   Made the squares, and somehow put it away - never put it together.   I think, not sure, that it was a giveaway thru Facebook.  Schacht Spindle Co & Classic Elite Yarns.   My plan was to sew the strips together and fold them into a Tolt Folded Bag.   So I hope to get the 3rd row of squares put together & now that I found the ball of yarn, can sew the 3 rows together.   Fingers crossed this works.

 I found this in my "travel bag".  Met up with friends and put in some of the weaving.  Spinning Star.   A very nice kit - and I switched the kit fiber with Lizbeth fiber.  An excellent to go kit.

  Added border pattern to large circle of the Nanduti 1 projects.  Lots of knots.  Homework complete - ready for the 4th session.

I've been using DMC coton perle, size 12.

Tollway Tatters

Ana.  Her project was "Wondrous Window" earring pattern 

by Marilee Rockley from Up and Tat 'Em.  

Elaine.  A needle tatter!  The photo (below) is a spiral she was creating.

and, I have to make mention .... She designed her own tee shirt with dye in squirt bottles.  She made her own stencils with contact paper (x-acto knife) and ended up with a very creative tee.  

                                                     Denise  on the left, Barbara on the right.  Denise had all the ingredients for ice drop production.   She things BIG and wants to create oodles, to gift this week.   Innovative color choices, and speedy tatter!    She is making them based on ladybug, emerald ash borer bug, think - nature inspired pieces.       

Denise tatted around a copper penny (show-n-tell).   Fabulously interesting!

  Yesterday, Sue Anna was tatting the earring pattern with different beads and fiber colors.    The pattern is in the book, Tatting with Beads Jewelry (link here).  Photo below.

Here is Marilee on her carbon fiber cello - she played a piece from Fantom of the Opera.  (I think).    Diane has the video!!!    She is one talented artist!    Teacher, designer, fiber dyer, tatter, and friend.  And, yes, after her solo, she tatted and chatted with all of us.   So helpful with our tatting issues (ie Catherine Join, keeping the tatting flatter, etc.)

And look who came from Michigan!   Delighted to chat and see Sue's latest sun catchers.   She creates wonderful patterns for ice drops and sun catchers.   (If you look at Diane's blog post, she has more photos of the projects).  Or, check out her creations on her blog, Tatting Lace in Grace.     While I was trying to change a pattern to make it look different (after 2 trys - realize it doesn't work out), Sue eyes it for half a second and diagnoses a fix!   A tatting mechanic!

Here is Diane.  Can you guess what she is making?   Could it possibly be an ice drop?    More photos at Lace-Lovin'Librarian's (link to blog posts HERE).       See the box in front of her -- yep, indeed, Yarnplayer HD threads.   They look so much better in hand than in photos (on my computer screen).   If you have not given them a try --- do so soon!     These came home with me -- Nitty Gritty, Peace, and Stardate.     Oh, that "Peace" fiber color is probably my favorite.

When I had HDT by Yarnplayer, 50/50 wool/silk, I knitted with it - and made square on my pin loom.   It is a beautiful colorway - and I've enjoyed using it.   ( color Peace  ).

every now and again, I pull out my pin loom and get more squares woven.  no idea what they will become.   I think using the zoom loom is fun and some day I will have a lot of 4" squares to crochet together for something.    Maybe a small throw.   

Tollway Tatters: Diane

This is the beginning of a spinning wheel, design from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior.    Started by Diane, who blogs as Lace-lovin' Librarian, using Omega fiber.

 And, before we packed up all our tatting tools, this is what it looked like:

So interesting to see how the different colorways in fibers create a secondary pattern!!!   This fiber and design will be a winner once finished.

In addition to the lovely tatting, Diane is weaving bags!    Her Mom gave her a saori loom for her birthday ... when she arrived at the Tollway Tatters gathering, she brought a large shopping-bag size FULL of woven bags.   Each creative and special - all made with an original pattern designed by her Mom.     And, yes, she is selling them.   Not sure how she can part with all her lovelies ... but, there you have it .... look at the bags:

Never leaving empty handed .... or, shall I say, 'so spoiled I stink' ....     

 What cool blue HDT do you see?    Yes, gifted by Marilee, aka Yarnplayer.   I have ideas for the blue.   Her colors are fabulous.   What inspiration for tatters.  

And Diane brought along a container of blinged shuttles for all of us to choose favorites!!!   Diane has that eye for embellishing shuttles, all so colorful and fun.   Want to see more?   Look on Diane [Lace-Lovin' Librarian]'s blog under shuttle bling or blinged shuttles .... very festive.  

 
 Both of the shuttle sides are decorated + have a sparkle, glitter in the seal.   These bad Boyes are in tip top shape.

generous tatters gather!

The Tollway Tatters met last Saturday.    Tatting chat, sharing, purchasing, reviewing of books ... and tatting!

Sweetheart Sue Anna, blogging at Sue Anna's blog,  generously gifting new shuttles from Handy Hands.   I selected a Mango Sorbet Moonlet and a Sparkle Fuschia Sunlit.

 These are blingged shuttles by Diane, blogging at Lace-lovin' Librarian.   She uses Boye brand shuttles, removes the pic, and embellishes.   I selected these shuttles from her magic box!    [photos of front and back].

Oh my, what lush fibers from Marilee.   Oodles of fun to select fibers in variety of sizes and colorways.   Not sure what these will be tatted into - but will enjoy each skein.  

Oh, Etsy, how I adore my new stash.   Yarnplayer's HDTs.

Pretty woven bag, made by Diane's Mom, fundraiser.   Superb weaving.   Such a charming bag.   Looking forward to seeing Diane's new creations once her loom lessons begin.   Keep an eye out for buttons - 1.5" - 2" - let Diane know when you come across bargains on interesting button finds.

I think I have it figured out.
