... do you know where your pets are?
... nap time.
Thanks a million Melody M & Elaine H for sharing your stash. Nick is starting the L&L angel, Angel of Winter as I type this post. Nick went thru my DMC floss & I didn't have everything needed for the pattern. Of course, I went out & purchased the rest of the DMC! I went to walmart where the floss is 10cents/skein. I requested the special stuff from House of Stitches. I didn't have silver blending fil, whisper, or mill hill beads. The linen is 28-count dk blue [probably twilight blue]. Nick is going to give the linen a try. He has been working on either aida or evenweave in the past. This is what it will look like [eventually]:
photo that came with the pattern.
Also, thanks for the kind words re. Nick's dental surgery. Yesterday morning, he had four wisdom teeth removed. With the medications, he seems ok. Still swollen [think chipmunk cheeks] and sore ... however, is able to talk.

Last night, Alex, DH & I viewed this on DVD. I see why it earned an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

more storms in the area ...
While the storm activity continues, the cats just curl up and nap!Came home from errands and waited out the wind/rain storm. Lots of wind, lots of storm clouds and some signals out. I understand there is another line of storms heading this way.
Keeping my fingers crossed the power stays on.

First Day of School
Just checked this out from the public library. More information HERE
Yesterday, was the first day of classes. And the power went out at 5:36 a.m. How dismal. The schools were on a two-hour delay. Now, is that any way to start a school year?
I ran a bunch of errands + got my hair cut. Lots of hair cut ... my youngest son noticed right away. My other son & DH didn't notice. (sigh)
Today -- more errands & a start on our youngest son's room. I have given him four months to do SOMETHING -- ANYTHING -- to improve the mess. Perhaps I'll just do it in small time slots during the week. It is an incredible mess.

news ...
I was reading Book Page ... and in the Burning Questions column, it says Jan Karon is going to publish another series in 2007 ... staring Father Tim.
More from Jan Karon's web site:
"This is the final More from Mitford newsletter, but it isn’t the last news you’ll have about Jan. In the coming months, you’ll receive mailings about Jan and her exciting new series, The Father Tim Novels. This series comprises three books: Home to Holly Springs, Party of Four, and A Family Face. So, stay tuned. And thanks for loving Mitford. Jan asks us to tell you that Mitford loves you back."
