TIAS Practice Pieces for Day 5

For Day 5 - our pattern had options.   Could use a Lock Join (which I know how to do) -- or a Catherine Wheel Join (which I struggle with every time).

Pulled out a practice piece (Lizbeth size 20, Color 122) and tatted the pattern using a Lock Join.   Will get out my other practice piece and try to figure out the Catherine Wheel Join.   Supposed to create a smoother outline on the chain.

I'm also thinking my piece should not have scallops!  Probably should be smooth chain.   Can figure it out with another practice try.
Pattern:  Day 5 - Tat It And See 2023, c. Jane Eborall

TIAS (Tat It and See)

hosted by Jane Eborall.

Please visit her blogs to participate and/or follow along.  Try to guess what we are tatting.  I thought it was a caterpillar, or butterfly, or fish.   Now, not really certain!   As the days continue, and Jane provides additional pattern, will see if I'm even close to a good guess.

Like everyone else, I have to look up Catherine wheel joins every time. They do give a smoother outline, though that’s probably not drastic!
