On the table . . .

Doing a couple of things yesterday/today -- first, trying to
create templates from E Z Quilting (brand) Template Plastic.
I tried before by using a bobbin lace pricker (tool),
then used hole punch.   It distorted the plastic.

This time, I used a marker on the plastic,
cleaned off my hole punch tool - and had better (not perfect) results.

Good for practice pieces.  I'm learning how to keep the Oya 'flat'.  Similar to issues I've had with tatting - I want to avoid cupping of the projects. (not familiar with cupping?   visit Muskann's blog post  https://tipsaroundthehome.blogspot.com/2021/12/cupping-hearts.html.    Going around the template is new to me!  Stay tuned.

I put in a few rounds on the EGA GCC Beginning Teneriffe Lace.  (Largest piece in the center - top) Using ecru No. 70 DMC Cordonnet Special.   Knotted, snagged, twisted.  I ended up cutting off some of the fiber to make the length easier to deal with.   And found a longer needle to use for the weaving.   Next round - knots.

I'm so used to using perle cottons & size 20 Lizbeth - using the finer fiber is new to me.   (the other pieces in progress & finished Joan Brash's Teneriffe Kits.).

Air quality is better today (Canadian Wildfire smoke in the area), taking a break for a bicycle ride!
