DVD nite

Alex selected this from the movie rental place
And, he asked me if I wanted to view it ... ok, I say, it has Brad Pitt. And, my head cold is quite terrible. All I want to do is rest.
This is really good!

DH went online and found a couple places that have Pan's Labyrinth [Alex wants to see it : )]. DH is interested, too.
I'm near the very end of this novel. It is not really my type of book. Guns, violence, drugs ... not really my fav reading material. The author is very good, though, and the story is quite interesting. Once hooked, I just wanted to read the whole thing -- never mind the violence sprinkled in.

Ice Storm & DVD/Movie week-end

Alex was entertained by this squirrel -- raiding the bird seed!!

Tori arrived Friday afternoon. We picked up Thai food [carry-out] b/c Tori wanted to see the final episode of Grey's Anatomy. Followed by The Departed DVD.

On Saturday, Nicholas made his famous Quiche - DH cooked out on the grill. Alex picked out l'enfant as he is totally into foreign films. We viewed this DVD on Saturday during the ice storm. Lots of ice ... not much damage, just a few large branches fell.

Sunday, I made an early meal [chicken, stuffing, veggies, fruit] Tori got her ride back to IU.

DH, DS-Alex, and I drove into Lake County to see Volver. It was the 5pm show. We were back in time to watch THE awards show.

Lately, I've seen several movies, so, I"m movied out. Alex wants to get his hands on Pan's Labyrinth. I want him to focus on studying for his final exams this week : )

I heard from Tori, there was a possibility of her visiting this week-end. She might be able to catch a ride home ... and back to Bloomington.

A couple days ago, I checked out The Queen of the South from the public library. It is different from the usual fiction I've been reading. Quite a suspense story.



Look what I got in TODAYS mail? This is from my sister : ) She knows all the hip stuff to read.

Maybe Tori is visiting this week-end. Wouldn't that be nice? The weather sounds terrible ... rain, sleet, snow, etc. Maybe that forecast will change. I have to get a pie from Baker's Square. Over the holiday, she wanted a Banana Creme pie & they were not selling them. Imagine that???

Alex brought home a permission slip [French Club] to see this movie ... and I was able to tag along. It was in French with English sub-titles. Outstanding movie
