Tatting and Tools/Toys
Over-the-Moon with my new TSA shuttles. The TSA group is on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/groups/tattingshuttleaddicts/ - Tatting Shuttle Addicts. I have learned a lot about different types of tatting shuttles. NAG Studio [Needle Arts Goddess] has an Eddie shuttle design in Maple for sale thru her ETSY store. These shuttles are to commemorate TSA's two years. btw --Anybody can purchase the Eddie / maple shuttle and can opt for personalized engraving. With or without hook.
I noticed on FB, The Tatting Corner / Jennifer posted: " I have a special request for small tatted or laced butterflies. We are vending at Annie's Craft Festival October 30-November 1st and would like to include a small butterfly to each flier that we hand out to encourage more folks to keep this wonderful art form going. " She would like them by 10/28 ... Started a few last night ---
Repeating .... I really adore these Tulip Etimo lace hooks. While I hesitated to purchase the set -- I am so glad I went ahead with the order. The roll up is nice + closes with a magnet. The hooks are nice sizes for lace. I also added my favorite Carrickmacross lace scissors, knitting pin, Susan Bates yarn needle, a couple double point knitting [sock?] needles, and LACIS crochet hook. The cotton candy embroidery scissors have been my 'go to' recently!
Edited to add: Scissors also known as Steeking Scissors at Knit Picks. Thx Diane!!!
This is my re-tat of Leaping Lambies pattern by Karey Solomon. You may remember my first attempt? [in a previous post]
A few doodles for Lafayette Lacemakers - to be handed out at community events.

Doodles, Lambie, gifts
Beginning the post with doodles.... made for Lafayette Lacemakers, Inc. These are for business cards which are handed out at community events. Hope to empty more shuttles soon ---
Here is my Leaping Lambie attempt from Tatting Times (Aug 2015) which I need to tat again !!! I didnt quite get it right the first time. Pattern c2015 Karey Solomon.
Below - Christmas in July gift from GF DW---- crochet pieces! An inspiration to improve my crochet skills.
See how beautiful this motif is? Tatted by GF DW --Pattern is from
She also made a couple more motifs and attached to note.
New acquisition - c.1942 The Spool Cotton Company. The patterns are nice; however, the little bird tatting shuttle caught my eye + there were more inside --- booklet starts "If a tatting shuttle could chirp it would probably trill."
too charming .....

sorting
Hearts

"Asahi Original 424" Printed in Japan
c.applemints 2013
Tatted with DMC Cebelia Crochet Coton
Ecru + #818 Baby Pink
I was sorting thru my fibers to look for pastel colors. I wanted to tat the patterns in the Japanese Tatting Lace book. I'm so used to the LizBeth + have not used the Cebelia for awhile. I hung the hearts up on a woven bag handle.
After going thru fibers - and stash - I think I can gather up everything and put it away in one place!

Gathering in Indiana for Lace Day
A spectacular Spring Day greeted us in Lafayette, Indiana, for Lace Day.... I had a wonderful time catching up with all the news and chatting with friends I don't see as often as I'd like to. Delighted to meet new [to me] lacemakers and see their projects in the works! And, missed those who were unable to make the journey.
Show-n-Tell: Crochet, Tatting, Knitting + Bobbin Lacing:
Diane brought her beautiful doily projects with her: Jan Stawasz 'Masterpiece' doily
and Renulek's Spring Doily. It was nice to meet her good friend Pat, who may become a shuttle tatter!
Mary brought an acrylic/blend yarn and was making a potholder. Crochet. She was wearing a spectacular top, embellished with tatting. (Carol has a nice photo on her blog post). Sue Anna was using Patti Duff's beaded lanyard pattern with a smaller size beads - will be lovely once finished!
This was the only knitting I saw, was one of the entries into the Lace Contest.
Prizes, Shopping, and Gifts:
The opportunity drawings did not disappoint .... hand sewn snap bags, bobbins from England, Vera Bradley bags, Tatting Fiber, Tatting books, craft bags, gift cards, fan sticks ....
- enough for all of us to enjoy + share the spoils with friends (Teal craft bag for Denise, via Diane).
