Knotted Lace

Second Session -- closed loops, bows, center starts w/long looms and w/small loops .. and much more.  What looks (to me) complicated is explained step-by-step, easily by Kelli.   All the tips are helpful + the little pieces came out okay.

I'm using her book and kit.   The fiber and needles are nice - sharp points, too.   Petalouda Dentelle No.30.   Olympus Sashiko Needles.   I enrolled in two classes - Mediterranean Knotted Lace and Bibilla.   Each class has 2 sessions.

practice, practice --

Found some Parlak Oren Bayan Dantel (50) in my thread stash.   Practice pieces of Mediterranean Knotted Lace.

Dk. Blue practice piece:  edge knots, loops, turning loops (dog ears), bridging loops & picots.   Not certain the small picots look quite right - will try again tomorrow.  On the larger loops - small picots, medium picots, graduated picots.

Lt. Blue piece:  knots & loops (Color 579) - lt blue edge.

For these pieces, I put the knots a little further apart - not as close together as my initial class piece.

Mediterranean Knotted Lace

This little sample is my project from the first session of knotted lace.   We learned a LOT during class.   The piece created, had four rows and various picots.

I used hidamari Sashiko Needles.   First part of session -  knotted lace on a cloth / edge.  Then added knotted lace to the tatting.   Couple different ways.
