Trying Again: Daisy Wheel Ornament

I'm at our middle son's home.    This is Apollo.   He has internet --

Daisy Wheel Ornament.  I am viewing the video of the class session, using Elisa, 10, #8197 - Elisa thread info LINK.
some progress:

I have a kit - which I will attempt after I figure out what I'm doing.   Not sure why this NL in the round is confusing to me.   The instructions are perfect, the teaching is perfect, must be ME.

Kit, Pattern + Instructions:  c.2025 Loretta Holzberger

Sessions thru Virtual Education,
The Lace Museum.

Apollo thinks watching the outdoors is more fun than watching me.

Carrot thinks my tote bags are great fun.

Chains, Rings + Joins: Second Session

Second Session:   Josephine ring (knot), Dimpled ring,
onion ring (2 different ways), hiding tatted ends - adding fiber - encapsulation, Floating rings, Self-closing mock ring (SCMR), adding bead to SCMR, Split rings.

I really enjoy the classes/sessions with Kelli.  She has wonderful instruction booklets, seems so organized and knowledgeable of the topics she is teaching.
While much practice needed on my end - she has a nice way of demonstrating
the 'how to' and explains the 'why' - with original patterns to try.

She has another session (virtual education) in June
tatting a sunflower with a very unique
center -- Yeah, of course I've already signed up!!!

Workshop with Kelli Slack via virtual education, Lace Museum.

My supervisors.   I'm always interested in when they come into the room (while I'm on / in zoom session).   They seem to prefer listening to people on the zoom videos.   This session, they were pretty quiet.

Callie gets really chatty when she brings toys into the room.

Tat It And See Link HERE:  https://tatitandsee.blogspot.com/

I'm using Lizbeth Size 20, Col 691 + Col 168.

The long(ish) bookmark(ish) shape is the result of Days 1-9.  Tail? Wing? or ?
   Hmmmm.    Any ideas?

The smaller piece, Days 10-11,  has two beads.   Eyes?   Ear?  Nose?
And, where does this smaller piece attach to the larger piece?

Stay tuned ....

doodles ....

One of my GFs had some left over Delica beads, from her projects, and I was happy to take the beads off her hands!!!  I got them out this evening and used them with some tatting.   I mixed up a few colors.  Delica Bead (DB):   DB 625, DB 1107, DB 11, DB 133, DB 853.    I used Lizbeth size 20, Col. 131.

On the left, a butterfly pattern based on one found in Complete Book of Tatting by Rebecca Jones (p.71)  -- on the right Jon Yusoff's dragonfly pattern - Link Here.

Usually, I would put the beads on the fiber around my hand while making rings - and the beads would be in place of picots.   This time, I left the beads on the shuttle until I needed them - and made the picots.   A bit different for me [tho tatters who frequently use beads, probably will laugh!].   I also tried adding beads in the picots/joins with a crochet hook.   It was okay, once I got used to it.

Tatted up some butterflys too.   The beads add shimmer and extra color!   What fun.

I had so much mending to do this past week.  Below, are photos of Mr. Katt (Simon).   I had some catnip in the cabinet - and got it out to make some cat nip toys (request by DD).   The cat was all over the cabinet.   Would not stop searching.   So, put him out of the room, made a cat nip toy for him and set it by the door.   Once he had his own NEW toy, I was able to finish the rest for tomorrow's mail!

Tatting with Honey Bunny

Yes, this is a motif from the On-Line Tatting Class,  (April 29th Class).     I made a practice piece,
and then tried a motif - which didn't want to lay flat.     I went over the pattern + realized I didn't have the center area tatted per pattern.
Tried again with Lizbeth, Size 20, Col. 624 + think it came out ok!  This motif is

Sonnenschein by
Petra Tornack-Zimmermann

from her book Happy Occhi
square motifs in tatted lace

In addition to the on-line class homework, I tatted up a little motif

with Lizbeth, size 20, Scottish Thistle.    It is based on motif #31, a pattern
from MiniTats (by Patti Duff), motif with six points.    When I realized I had not joined the first point and 6th point, I added a little extra.

He comes in - he wants out.
The night before last, he came in around Midnight + slept until around 5am
and wanted back out.

Last night, he came in around Midnight + slept until around 1am

I don't know where he goes - he keeps coming back!

Honey

wee bit of tatting .... giveaway

This is size 20, color 694
Lizbeth --

And, have you seen the beautiful butterfly pattern on Frivole's blog?   See the picture and details on her post Papillon. After I ordered her pattern, I visited her Etsy, too --- what stunning tatting shuttles!!!  had to order one of those, too.

(The ort box was made by The Southpaw Stitcher - who has a wonderful giveaway on her blog.  The matchbook style needlebooks were made by me + will be a fundraising item at a local holiday boutique.)

I was asked about our pets .... so, here is the most recent parade of pictures:

Ferel cat that has been visiting since May ....

Mr. Katt (the Bully) who is not allowed on the furniture.

Honey Bunny, who did NOT what her pic taken today.

Geriatric Nikki, who opted for a box
over his basket today.

Another quick visit ....

The saga continues.   This lovely cat visited again this evening.
He stayed about five minutes and scampered off.   Didn't eat much of the cat food.

Cat is far away from house - with camera lens, able to get pictures.
Really is a pretty cat.

Mr. Katt!

Mr. Katt watching me tat:

He was just too curious ...

to leave the shuttle alone ....

Kept putting him on the floor + finally,
he decided to nap in the basket.

#5 from Mini Tats by Patti Duff

Pointy looking with the Shoe Lace Trick (SLT).
LizBeth Fiber, Size 20, Color 686.

#5 from Mini Tats by Patti Duff.
This time, tatted with two shuttles, did not use the SLT.

Unkown fiber.   Probably size 20.

I'm thinking this may be pretty in White,
as a Five Point Star.
Maybe some more picots added --- oh, the possibilities.

Also, need to find some shamrock patterns.   With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, I think some lucky shamrocks might be fun to tat.

Thinking to use Sharren's Irish for a Day + Gina's Lucky Seven Shamrock patterns.
