- Color 670 (red).   Oh the berry - Will try again.

When I put the leaf with mistakes and without mistakes together, they look okay.  We were advised to leave the fiber tails 'on' for attaching.   They are interesting to create -- I need more green fiber!  Perhaps I should go on a fiber hunt.  Maybe I have green fiber in a different size.

 Here are two 'mistake' holly leaf patterns, + on leaf to 'edge'.   During the class, I was watching, knotting, checking the pattern, and kept moving along (ignoring mistakes).   Learned A LOT.  Berry beads for now.

Lizbeth Size 10 - Color 714 (green)

- Color 670 (red)

My knotted berry pieces are a sight for sore eyes.   Found some berry beads and will use them (until I can master the knotting in the round).  

Have a large and small leaf beginning -- plan to put the holly leaf edge on.  Making the spikes is a lot of fun - trying to get them equal on both sides, a challenge.  Maybe they don't need to be exact.

I enjoy exploring this type of knotting w/large needle - following the sessions of edges ...

and the square pieces / doily, the shapes are wonderful to learn and create.

I'm using Lizbeth size 10.   Colors 9601, 670, + 9602.  I have ONE more leaf to create.  Seems the more I create, fewer mistakes I make.

I've got a couple blades done on the maple leaf pattern.  I'm using Lizbeth size 10.   Colors 9601, 670, + 9602.  I'm getting the hang of the pattern + tension.

I found a few photographs of Maple Leaf / Autumn Colors.

One photograph had a yellow stem and red leaf -- 

which I am attempting.  Starting with the leaf stem.   Or branch.  Creating a struction is a challenge, a good thing to learn how to do.

Update: Buds Pattern

 After looking closely, I found a couple (noticeable) mistakes.   Took them out and plan to re-knot them correctly.    This was a class, Buds Pattern Doily, which was a good class, wonderful to learn new ways of doing things.

OYA: knotted leaf motifs

This is a plastic template with a few 

leaf motifs. This was part of the Leaf Doily classes I took in July.  I used Lizbeth Size 20

Col. 684.   With a new class coming up (Maple Leaf) I figured I should practice a few motifs.

 For this group, I practiced adding in fibers.  I can tell where I added, but it looks ok.

 For this little beaded leaf -- I guess I just forgot how to create them.   It took me awhile ; )

 Repeats of the beaded edge leaf.  Lizbeth size 20 - skinny (Col. 678) & chubby (Col. 684). 

The Diamond Edging Pattern (Created in March).

I used Lizbeth Size 10, Col. 627

on "kit" template.

This is in progress.  Modified from pattern in her book.  I'm creating one of the rounds.  Using Lizbeth, Size 20, Col. 678.  The thread 'tails' will be taken care of on completion of this round.   I tape them to the back while making the oya double knots - keeping them out of the way.  I should have this ready for the final step (fancy stuff with the two open loops).  And a new pattern for the participants in these sessions.

Stay tuned, Fouth/final session will be on Wednesday.
