This was started following a L.A.C.E. Chapter meeting in November 2024.    L.A.C.E. facebook link.

L.A.C.E. is a charter chapter (Elmhurst, IL) of the

Loretta Holzberger: Needlelace Star Sampler

Beginning Needle Lace Star
Pattern + Instructions:  Loretta Holzberger c.2022

Started a 2nd Star (sampler).
This one has Cebelia outline fiber (size 30)
and filling stitches are
DMC Cordonnet Special 40.

I messed up the 3rd point on the first star - and
struggled with the Cebelia.

I watched the video of the third session
It is wonderful to take zoom classes and have the recording of the session to refer back to.
The final filling stitches will be knotted buttonhole (mine look wimpy so far) and the Point de Grain.

Small doodle star

Size 20, Lizbeth fiber.
Small tatted star.

Created at the L.A.C.E. Chapter meeting, I haven't started the Tatting by the Bay Free Pattern. (snowflake).  I'd also like to try the star (lower corner) from Sumie's book:

Needlelace Star

Mr. Katt
can you just see the
"Do Not Disturb" sign?

Not much to show from Saturday's

Tho, I did enjoy the buttonhole stitching +
was happy to learn how to make the openings.

Just need more spare time to work on the center.

The points will have different kinds of stitches.
Very kewl!

Did get to JoAnn Fabrics + bought more vinyl,
silk Gutermann thread spools (40% off thru 3/31).
It is awesome silk thread!

I joined a few groups on the
ioli board.   Actually, joined awhile back and forgot about it.
Maybe I'll have to check in more often.

Needlelace Star

He looks so innocent.

Just had to chew on the ribbon ...
of my perle cotton box.

Here he is, faking a cat nap ...

He springs to the edge of the desk for a thread nibble.

Honestly.

The the star is the pre-work for
taught by Janice Blair.

I'm couching down some DMC perle cotton
with pink sewing thread.   Maybe he just likes pink!

Looking forward to the L.A.C.E. meeting on Saturday.
Mr. Katt will remain AT HOME.
