Gros Point Sampler .... slowly getting it done
Padded outlines of the sampler. Two strands on the 'bars' inbetween the rectangles. Four strands for the outside rectangle. And started with four strands on the curve and added extra pieces for the curve. I used DMC #80, Ecru.
The extra padding on the curve was
interesting to try/learn.
Moving along with final (fourth) video/session. Scallops and Couronnes.

Two samplers .... Gros Point + Halas Style
Yes, still on the Gros Point (left) and started the Halas (right) sampler. I'm using DMC size 80 for both of the samplers. Two different classes - two different needlelace styles. I have some homework on the Halas before the next class (Tuesday). Couching the design & finishing up the first two rectangles on the sampler. Gros Point de Venise Class 2025,

Sessions thru Virtual Education,
The Lace Museum.
I like doing one class at a time; however, with vacation time, need to depend on the The recorded classes. The videos are available for a few weeks following the class. I'm appreciative of that!! Next up on the Gros Point sampler: the outline and video 4 of decorative elements, "Couronnes." and fancy edges. Fun ness.
Also looking forward to the Day and Night Lace Marathon. Sessions include tatting, needlelace, bobbin lace, carrickmacross, a little bit of everything!!

Gros Point de Venise: sampler progress
I've been using DMC size 80. So far, colors 604, 445, 3325. I struggle with the "Pea" stitch. (in blue). Once the sampler is complete, can use what I've learned/practiced on projects (butterfly). And I may use white or colors with DMC 80.

Preparing for bobbin lace Rose for Kalofer session on Thursday. Prep for needlelace and bobbin lace is time consuming. Stay tuned. The bobbin lace flowers/rose are part of a community lace project for the 2025 OIDFA Congress in Kalofer and Karlovo, Bulgaria. Also, https://lacechallenge.internationalorganizationoflace.org/lace-challenge/lace-challenge-11 Lace Challenge #11 for I.O.L.I. I am grateful to Joan Brash for her pattern and sessions thru the Lace Museum. I'd like to finish the sunflower this summer, too.
