TIAS: Day Six

Here, pattern of day 6, we are making a small drop picot below the chain.   New-to-me ....

Could we be tatting a dog?

Catherine Wheel Join - TIAS Day 5 Practice Piece

TIAS Practice Pieces for Day 5

For Day 5 - our pattern had options.   Could use a Lock Join (which I know how to do) -- or a Catherine Wheel Join (which I struggle with every time).

Previous post - I used a practice piece (Lizbeth size 20, Color 122) and tatted the pattern using a Lock Join.   With this piece, I tried to make a smooth Catherine Wheel Join.   Supposed to create a smoother outline on the chain.  Took several attempts for 4 Catherine Wheel Joins (and one lock join).   Just takes too long to do.
Left Catherine Wheel Joins - Right Lock Joins.   Flip a coin.   Meanwhile, there are more parts of the pattern to tat!

TIAS Practice Pieces for Day 5

For Day 5 - our pattern had options.   Could use a Lock Join (which I know how to do) -- or a Catherine Wheel Join (which I struggle with every time).

Pulled out a practice piece (Lizbeth size 20, Color 122) and tatted the pattern using a Lock Join.   Will get out my other practice piece and try to figure out the Catherine Wheel Join.   Supposed to create a smoother outline on the chain.

I'm also thinking my piece should not have scallops!  Probably should be smooth chain.   Can figure it out with another practice try.
